Committees and Committee Chairs
Governance, Risk, and Compliance Committee
Chairs: Melissa Soester & Penni Jackson
The function of this committee is to maintain and ensure compliance of NAPA bylaws and policy with AAPA bylaws and policy. The committee will monitor for any necessary changes from AAPA HOD as applicable to NAPA. This committee will perform an annual review of bylaws and policy.
Education Committee
Chair: Risa Zimmerman
The function of this committee is to plan continuing education sessions sponsored by the Academy.
Finance, Investment, & Scholarship Committee
Chair: Jill Connealy
The function of this committee is responsible for the annual budget of the Academy and other financial issues. The scholarship portion of this committee is responsible for developing, fundraising, managing philanthropic activities on NAPA’s behalf under the discretion and approval of the NAPA Board of Directors.
Communications Committee
Chairs: Angela Hill & Nicole Schwensow
The function of this committee is to maintain the content of the Academy’s website and social media pages. This committee will produce the quarterly Academy newsletter.
Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Committee
Chairs: Bethany Berg & Melissa Soester
The function of this committee is to protect the interest of the Academy on all national and state governmental and legislative matters. This committee works with the lobbyist to monitor and promote PA positive legislation. This committee organizes NAPA Hill Day, attends AAPA STAR conference calls, and helps identify PA reimbursement issues pertinent to Nebraska.
Membership and Public Relations Committee
Chairs: Bridget Burke & Reba Grovijon
The function of this committee is to recruit and maintain membership in the Academy. This committee will organize networking events outside of CME meetings.
Diversity Committee
Chair: Risa Zimmerman
The function of this committee is to support and promote the education of our members on issues of diversity and cultural competence.
